In the Beginning...
THE BEGINNING
When I saw the Five Minute Friday word prompt, beginning, these two scriptures came to mind:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now
the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the
watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the
waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All
things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was
created that has been created. In him was life, and that life
was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness,
and yet the darkness did not overcome it.
GOD IS ETERNAL
Before our world began, there was the triune God—Father, Son,
Holy Spirit. There is nothing behind God, as Francis Schaeffer would say. He is
eternal with no beginning and no end. We
are created in His image—male and female, and He has communicated with us
through language in His written word, the Bible.
Yet, Jesus is also the Word, the Incarnate Word. He lived
and walked on earth. People saw Him and touched Him and could verify that He
lived. Even after His resurrection, He appeared to many, some of whom were
still alive while parts of the New Testament were being written.
Much more could be said, but my 5 minutes are almost up.
FROM BEGINNING TO ETERNITY
I am comforted to know that God is the Creator and Sustainer
of life, that He is in control, no matter what the circumstances are. He is on
the throne and is right now making all things new. One day, Jesus will return,
and we, along with all those who have gone before, will be joined together with
Him forever. What a glorious future to contemplate!
Then I heard a loud
voice from the throne: Look, God’s dwelling is with humanity,
and he will live with them. They will be his peoples, and God himself will be
with them and will be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their
eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no
more, because the previous things have passed away. Then the one
seated on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new.” Revelation 21:3-5a

Oh amen! He is God over all, from the very beginning! What a day that will be when we join Him forever in eternity. I love your Scripture graphic showing that.! Blessings and hugs, dear Gayl ❤️
